Who we are and what we do

The Naval Shipbuilding College (NSC) supports job seekers through providing personalised career and training advice, to help you secure employment.

The Candidate Engagement team provides advice on opportunities to upskill through direct connections with education and training providers and connects candidates directly with current job opportunities.

Thousands of people will be required across the country, for decades to come, to design, build and maintain the future fleet. The jobs are across the Enterprise – from the major shipbuilding contractors and systems integrators to the local businesses contributing some of the millions of parts within the supply chain; to research, education and training organisations delivering the next generation of knowledge and skills; to the women and men of the Royal Australian Navy who will operate the future fleet; and Commonwealth, and State and Territory Governments working in close partnership to ensure the Enterprise’s success.

30 years

Construction of Australia’s new fleet of world class, naval vessels will run for the next thirty years, followed by a further three decades of sustainment work – providing a career for life for many Australians.

$183 billion

The Australian Government is committing up to $183 billion under the continuous National Naval Shipbuilding Plan.

This is to develop a strong, sustainable and innovative Australian Naval Shipbuilding Industry to serve Australia’s naval defences, protect maritime borders and create thousands of new jobs for decades to come.
